Game Summary: Northwest Express Dominates Steele County Blades 7-2
Thursday, December 12, 2024, Spooner Civic Center

The Northwest Express powered past the Steele County Blades in a 7-2 victory, highlighted by a dominant performance from Preston Lundbohm and Harrison Browning.

1st Period:
The Express jumped out to a commanding start with Preston Lundbohm scoring twice in the first 12:20, both assisted by Harrison Browning and Otis Berge. Harrison Browning added a power-play goal late in the period, assisted by Derek McGrew and Dylan Wolff, giving the Express a 3-0 lead. Penalties slowed Steele County, including a tripping call on Jakub Tomecek that set up Browning's goal.

2nd Period:
The second frame saw balanced scoring from both sides. Northwest's Connor Corcoran capitalized on a power play early, assisted by Jaden Aguilera and Dylan Wolff. Steele County responded with a power-play goal of their own from Arturas Laurynavichus, who was assisted by Tyler Hadfield and Levi Ness. Harrison Browning struck again for the Express, extending the lead, but Jakub Tomecek kept Steele County within striking distance with a late goal.

3rd Period:
Northwest sealed the game with two more goals. Lundbohm completed his hat trick, assisted by Browning and Connor Corcoran. Browning later scored a short-handed goal with help from Brenden Wolff and Aidan Liebold. The period also saw significant penalties, including a game misconduct for Steele County’s Tyler Hadfield and Peyton Inks.
