🏒 Northwest Express Power Past Steele County 8–4October 12, 2025 – Four Seasons Centre, Owatonna, MN
The Northwest Express turned in a dominant offensive performance on Saturday night, defeating the Steele County Blades by a score of 8–4 in a spirited and physical matchup at the Four Seasons Centre.

Goaltender #30 Filip Kaczmarczyk was steady in net for Northwest, turning aside numerous quality chances as the Express controlled much of the play.

First Period

The Express came out strong, establishing control early with a trio of goals in the opening frame.
  • 16:38 – Zachary Halling opened the scoring for Northwest, finding the back of the net to make it 1–0.
  • 13:18 – Jacob Alexander doubled the lead off assists from Bryce Millington and Logan Yates.
  • 7:13 – Bradyn Strachota, assisted by Millington and Preston Lundbohm, extended the margin to 3–0.
  • Steele County got on the board late in the period with a goal from Logan Schumacker to make it 3–1 after one.

Second Period

Northwest carried their momentum into the second, adding several key insurance goals.
  • 12:35 – Alexander Musyakevych scored off a setup from Jacob Alexander and Caeleb Burch.
  • Steele County briefly rallied with a pair of short-handed goals by Nicholas Skiadas and Bryce Millington, closing the gap to 4–3.
  • The Express quickly responded when Jacob Alexander converted on the power play at 1:47, assisted by Musyakevych and Lundbohm, restoring a two-goal cushion.
Northwest entered the third period holding a 6–3 advantage.

Third Period

The Express sealed the win with one final tally:
  • 7:40 – Bryce Millington scored to cap off an impressive offensive showing and secure the 8–4 victory.
Steele County added one late power-play goal, but the Express maintained control and closed out the game confidently.

Goaltending

Northwest Express - #30 Filip Kaczmarczyk 31 Shots / 27 Saves

Steele County Blades - #1 Dominic Seligman 23 Shots / 15 Saves

Game Notes:

The game grew increasingly physical in the third period, with several major penalties and game misconducts assessed to both sides. Despite the rising tension, the Express maintained composure and discipline, allowing their structure and teamwork to carry them through to the final horn.
The victory underscores the depth of Northwest’s offense, with multiple players contributing across the scoresheet and consistent play from the defensive unit and goaltender.

With the win, the Northwest Express continue their strong start to the 2025–26 USPHL Premier season.
