Game Recap: Northwest Express vs. Minnesota Outlaws, September 27, 2025 – Spooner Civic Center
The Northwest Express skated to a commanding 11–1 victory over the Minnesota Outlaws on Saturday night at the Spooner Civic Center, delivering their most decisive win of the young season.

Northwest wasted no time taking control of the game, scoring four times in the first period. Zachary Halling opened the scoring at 11:02, assisted by Lucas Schmitt. Moments later, Carter Halling doubled the lead off a setup from Kyle LaMantia at 7:29. The Express kept pressing, and Bryce Millington struck twice before the period ended — first at 6:25 from Preston Lundbohm and Caeleb Burch, then again at 1:43 from Lundbohm to make it 4–0 after one.

The Express offense continued rolling in the second period. Millington completed his hat trick just 45 seconds in, converting from Eli Underhill and Burch at 19:15. Less than a minute later, Nicholas Skiadas scored with help from Dalton Slama and Bradyn Strachota, stretching the lead to 6–0.
Northwest added two more before the frame was over. Millington struck again short-handed at 17:57, his fourth of the night, assisted by Burch. Then on the power play at 11:47, Alex Themmes scored from Halling, giving the Express a commanding 8–0 advantage heading into the third.

The scoring surge continued in the final frame. Zachary Halling netted his second goal at 10:27 from Themmes, and added another at 6:38, again assisted by Themmes, to complete the hat trick. The Outlaws finally broke through late, but Jacob Alexander capped the night with a goal in the closing seconds, sealing the 11–1 victory.

Goaltender Henry Vick was strong in net for the Express, stopping 57 of 58 shots faced in a standout performance. On the other side, the Outlaws rotated goaltenders as they faced a barrage of 69 Express shots.

The win showcased a complete team effort, highlighted by Millington’s four-goal night and Zachary Halling’s hat trick. With the victory, the Express gained momentum and confidence heading into their next stretch of Premier Division play.

🔦 Player Spotlight

Bryce Millington – Forward
Millington was unstoppable against the Outlaws, scoring four goals — including a natural hat trick — and adding key energy on both special teams. His shorthanded tally in the second period highlighted his two-way play, while his finishing touch set the tone for the Express’ offensive explosion.

Zachary Halling – Forward
Halling recorded a hat trick of his own, scoring twice in the third period to put the game out of reach. His chemistry with linemate Alex Themmes, who assisted on all three of his goals, was a difference-maker. Halling’s scoring touch and relentless puck pursuit helped cap off a dominant team effort.

Henry Vick – Goaltender
While the Express offense stole the spotlight, Vick quietly delivered one of the best goaltending performances of the season. Facing 58 shots, he turned aside 57, allowing the Express to build their lead without giving Minnesota any chance to rally. His focus and composure in net set the tone defensively.
