Northwest Express Dominates Hudson Havoc with 10-4 Victory
February 13, 2025 – Spooner Civic Center
The Northwest Express delivered a commanding performance against the Hudson Havoc, skating away with a 10-4 victory in front of a crowd of 210 at the Spooner Civic Center.

First Period:
The Express wasted no time setting the tone. Wolf opened the scoring at 2:26, netting his 28th of the season off assists from Lundbohm and Wolff. Just 34 seconds later, Alexander found the back of the net for his 11th, with Johnson and Winkler collecting helpers. McGrew capped the first-period scoring at 18:27, finishing a setup from Wolff and Alexander for his 9th. The Havoc struggled to keep pace and ended the period scoreless. A major elbowing penalty on Philpot at 4:30 gave Hudson an early power-play chance, but the Express penalty kill stood strong.

Second Period:
Wolf struck again early in the second, scoring his 29th at 3:52 with help from Aguilera. Hudson responded with Dilworth’s 4th goal at 4:37, assisted by Sanders, but the Express answered back quickly. Johnson scored his first of the season at 5:13, followed by Berge’s power-play goal just 17 seconds later, extending the lead to 6-1. Berge wasn’t done, adding his 14th at 8:36, assisted by Lundbohm and Winkler. Alexander completed the Express’ five-goal period with his 12th at 9:37, set up by Underhill and Winter. Hudson’s Eik added a late goal at 14:50, but the Express held a firm 8-2 lead heading into the final frame.

Third Period:
Alexander completed his hat trick at 4:32, finishing a feed from Wolf and Lundbohm for his 13th of the season. McGrew followed with his second of the night at 9:01, assisted by Aguilera and Lynch, pushing the Express into double digits. The Havoc showed late fight with Dilworth scoring his second of the game at 18:55 on the power play, followed by Lang’s goal at 19:23, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.

Game Stats:
  • Shots on Goal: Northwest Express 43, Hudson Havoc 21
  • Power Play: Northwest Express 1/2, Hudson Havoc 1/5
  • Goaltending: Kavanagh (NWE) stopped 17 of 21 shots for the win. Jahnke and Moen split time for Hudson, combining for 33 saves.

With this dominant win, the Express showcased their offensive depth and strong special teams, continuing their push in the standings.
